SHN seeks a Survey Party Chief in our Willits or Fort Bragg office who will support public infrastructure projects (such as roads, bridges, water and wastewater systems, schools, and medical facilities) and private projects (including commercial, residential, and industrial development projects). They will work closely with our Professional Land Surveyors. They will help define scope and costs, plan and evaluate field survey projects, perform the surveys, manage survey teams, process and coordinate field survey work, construction staking work, and other surveys. They will gather field survey data through use of conventional, unmanned aerial vehicles and GPS equipment, use and maintain surveying equipment. They will perform field surveys of roads, bridges, construction staking, right-of-way, monuments, boundaries, and property lines.
In the office the Survey Party Chief will process the field data that they or survey teams have acquired and develop that information into existing site conditions and topographic maps. They will research and calculate parcel boundaries, and aid in the development of parcel and record of survey maps, ALTA Surveys, corner records and other project data, as directed by the project Professional Land Surveyor managing the project. Compensation: $29.00 to $43.00 per hour
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED
• 3 years of survey experience and/or training
Preferred:
• Graduation from an accredited vocational school, college, or university
• Degree in Geomatics or Surveying
• Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) Certificate
• Previous work in a consulting environment
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Valid Driver's license and satisfactory driving clearance
