The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s Geodetic & Mapping Team 2 is recruiting a
Professional Land Surveyor with strong technical skills and experience in boundary analysis and
boundary determination, preparing Record of Surveys, Corner Records, and other survey exhibit maps.
The position reports to the Weymouth Water Treatment Plant located in La Verne, California.
We are seeking a motivated individual to plan, perform, and review the mapping of various surveying
projects and activities, such as boundary surveys, topographic surveys, geodetic control surveys, etc.
This individual will also serve as a technical lead to the team to ensure that surveying projects, program
objectives, and other assignments are accurately completed and performed in compliance with industry
standards and practices.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: A high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate
and eight years of progressively increasing responsible work experience in field and/or office
survey work, with one year minimum as a licensed surveyor; OR
An Associate’s degree and six years of progressively increasing responsible work experience
in field and/or office survey work, with one year minimum as a licensed surveyor; OR
A Bachelor’s degree and four years of progressively increasing responsible work experience
in field and/or office survey work, with one year minimum as a licensed surveyor.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Licenses:
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of
application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
• License in good standing as California Professional Land Surveyor (required at time
of application).
