Good point!

I think if you take the word 'Land' out then you can pull it off, I see that often: Associate Surveyor, Project Surveyor, Assistant Surveyor. Just don't use Land Surveyor

I had a long conversation with Jon Scarpa this morning. As a result, I'd like to make clear that I wasn't picking on Sac County (Jon wondered if I'd posted anything about Modesto's title transgression, or that of any of the private firms that also misuse protected titles). He's concerned that I might be making it harder for the county to attract good applicants in an already-challenging employment environment, so in the future I'll plan on first contacting the responsible agency to give them an opportunity to clean up any perceived goofs before calling them out in public.
