The California Department of Water Resources is looking for someone that desires to learn and seeks the challenges that cutting edge technology has to offer. This is the chance to perform some of the most interesting work in the land surveying profession from using multibeam bathymetry; UAV’s; aerial, terrestrial and mobile LiDAR; terrestrial RADAR and InSAR; to GNSS, Digital Levels and Total Stations on projects across California’s’ huge water infrastructure and levee systems as well as many other areas around the state where partnerships with local and federal agencies are in place. In this position, the incumbent works as a member of a survey crew performing boundary, control, hydrographic, monitoring, inspection, topographic and construction surveys typically on a variety of projects related to flood control, environmental protection, water conveyance facilities, species conservation, and recreation.
