Great Opportunity to join the Lumos & Associates Surveying Team in Reno, NV.

The GIS Specialist will be responsible for leading companywide projects to collect, design, develop, present, and store geospatial data. This position will work with team members in our Surveying, Engineering, and Construction Divisions to lead GIS data acquisition and management.

About the Position

Lead the company in GIS technology best practices.
Assist with the planning, acquisition, presentation, and storage of GIS data.
Lead the development of training, standards, and best practices of GIS for the company.
Coordinate with members of all company divisions to enhance and streamline existing workflows including but not limited to GIS asset management models, assistance with GIS based water, wastewater, and storm water models, GIS components of Utility System Mapping, etc.
Assist with remote sensing projects including 3D scanning, aerial photogrammetry (either conventional fixed wing or drone), and bathymetric surveys.
Coordinate with other internal and external teams to execute project scope and schedule as established by the Project Manager.
Perform work in a safe manner. Report repairs or safety concerns to management.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Surveying, Engineering, or related S.T.E.M. program is preferred; and or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
GISP Certification, preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience in GIS.
Proficient knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, Microsoft Office products.
Experience working with CAD data in the GIS environment, preferred.
Experience working in AutoCAD and understanding of the AutoCAD data model, preferred.
Field proficient with Trimble equipment.
Ability to work hours necessary to complete work within required time frames with regard to deadlines.
Valid driver’s license and able to pass driving record check.
