The County of San Diego is accepting applications for Land Surveyor
Annual Salary Range $89,044.80 - $109,470.40
Land Surveyors are licensed professional land surveyors or engineers, performing complex surveys and engineering projects. As project surveyors, incumbents lead groups of professionals and supervise technical staff performing a wide variety of surveying and engineering projects or programs.
The main duties are as follows:
Establishes procedures, techniques and selects instrumentation for determinations involving location of points, control lines, boundary lines and areas.
Prepares and reviews preliminary studies, calculations, cost estimates, specifications and reports consisting of engineering, construction, design, topographic, photogrammetric, geodetic, hydrographic, property and right of way surveys.
Reviews and checks surveyors and engineers' work and reports involving engineering and land surveying projects.
Reviews the preparation and processing of records of surveys, parcel and subdivision maps, photogrammetric surveys, uniform base mapping service and applicable computer graphics.
Coordinates the preparation of drawings, maps, plots and legal descriptions

Registration as a licensed Land Surveyor (Business and Professions Code), OR
Registration as a Civil Engineer with the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers, with the authority to practice land-surveying work (Business and Professions Code).
Note: Supervisory experience in planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the work of subordinate professional licensed land surveyors is highly desirable.
THE FOLLOWING IS ALSO REQUIRED
1). Must possess and maintain license issued by the State of California as a Professional Land Surveyor (Business and Professional Code).
2. A valid California class C driver's license required at time of appointment, and maintained throughout employment in this class, or the ability to arrange necessary and timely transportation for field travel. Employees in this class may be required to use their own personal vehicle.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
Employees hired on or after October 15, 2021, are required to be fully vaccinated* against COVID-19 before beginning employment. If you receive a conditional offer of employment, a copy of your vaccination card must be provided at the time of background.
Current County employees hired on or before October 14, 2021, are required to provide a copy of their vaccine card showing they are fully vaccinated, or undergo Covid-19 diagnostic testing and wear a facemask in the workplace.
Employees who work at County locations subject to the California Department of Public Health State Public Health Officer order are required to be fully vaccinated by the following dates:
Health and congregate care settings – September 30, 2021
Medical areas of jails/correctional facilities – October 14, 2021
*Requests for exemption to the vaccine requirement may be considered.
