$58.02-$72.46 Hourly / $10,056.80-$12,559.73 Monthly / $120,681.60-$150,716.80 Yearly

THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an outstanding career opportunity to provide the highest level of professional surveyor support for Countywide diverse land development projects in a fast-paced, exciting work environment.

In this position you will plan, organize, manage, and coordinate the programmatic, administrative, and operational activities for surveying and mapping functions within the Community Development Resource Agency’s Engineering and Surveying Division; perform the duties of the County Surveyor as specified in the statutes of the State of California and in the Placer County Code; direct, manage, and supervise the work of assigned staff; establish and implement assigned program objectives and performance standards; and to serve as a member of the Community Development Resource Agency management team, which is responsible for fulfilling the mission and carrying out the policies of the department.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the ability to work independently and efficiently to perform surveying and mapping review and analysis for numerous diverse and complex land development projects. Candidates will also need to provide excellent customer service, streamline and improve processes, be responsible for signing land division maps and public easement dedications for Placer County, and excel at managing professional-level staff. Previous experience working as a County Surveyor in California is highly desirable.

Experience: Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience as a registered Professional Land Surveyor, including two (2) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility.

Training: Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in land surveying, engineering, planning, or a related field.

Required License or Certificate: Possession of a Professional Land Surveyor license as issued by the State of California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists. Registration as a Civil Engineer issued prior to January 1, 1982, also qualifies.
