April PLS Exam Info?
So any info on when results might be posted? At least in years past they told you when to expect the results, this year they told us they would tell us when to expect results and have not even done that yet. I know you read this stuff Ric, any news?

The NCEES site claims to have released FS results to the board on May 10 along with vague claim about releasing the Survey exam results on May 16. The Board just met on May 15 and it's hard to say whether or not that means folks will be hearing something soon. I have a friend in Montana who just got his FE results from NCEES.
There is absolutely no information whatsoever regarding the state specific results. It would be nice to have an idea but I'll hope for July until I hear something different.

The CA board is notoriously slow. I passed the Comity test in early March and did not receive official notification until June. Then I did not get my wall certificate until the following March.
Of course my experience is over 20 years ago.

It is no longer required for the Board to meet to release results (last couple of years).
We've been telling everyone that our target for those exams administered by CBT is 30-45 days and we expect to meet that for the state PLS results.
We are finalizing dates for release of the FS and PS results and those should be soon also.
Stephen - many, many things have changed and re-changed in the last twenty years and how things were done then is irrelevent today.

OK! I passed!!!!!!!!!!!!! but my letter is a little ambigious.... Is this telling me i passed both test?
State Board: California
Exam Type: Principles and Practice of Surveying
Exam Date: April 2012
Exam Result: Pass
Congratulations! You have achieved a passing score on your recent NCEES exam. Please note that NCEES does not release numeric exam scores; results are reported as pass or fail only.
See below for information on how to proceed with the licensing process in your state. We wish you continued success in your career.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Upon verification by the California Board that all requirements* are complete, you will receive a letter from the Board For Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists that will serve as temporary evidence that you now hold a valid license as a Professional Land Surveyor in California. A formal certificate, which will include your license number, will be prepared and mailed to you (using the address that you supplied the California Board) within four to six weeks.

Congratulations Stuart!
Based on the wording at the bottom of the page, I'd say you passed! Still waiting on my letter.

"Congratulations! You have achieved a passing score on your recent NCEES exam."
I also think that is the National notification. Who sent the letter, NCEES or BPELSG? NCEES exam is the national exam. The BPELSG site says results for the state exam will be sent June 1 and today is June 1.
The paragraph at the bottom is likely a note that BPELSG is the final determination of whether all items have been passed and when that is verified then you will receive a letter notifying you that you are a licensed land surveyor.
FYI for the license lookup, it appears the last LS number given out is 8900 from those who passed the October 2011 National Exam and already had passed the State specific exam.

BPELS released the April 2012 Statistics. Looks about average. I too am awaiting April exam results results (passed the National) and this sure ramped up the anxiousness!
