Most laypeople cannot read a surveyors map. They have little or no understanding of bearings and tenths of a foot.
That statement there is something I brought up to the County Surveyor when I was required to write a "See spot run" description of my methods of survey on a RS. As a matter of note, when that request was made, and before I put the story on the map, I had my son, who at that time was not a CE or LS or even a college grad and was clerking at a auto parts store, look at the map and determine how I did the survey. Took him ~5min to determine what I held and why.

It was on PCH in sunset beach for duffy boats about 2000. Too lazy to look up the recording number

Sunset Beach is down south behind the Orange Curtain..had it been LA County I would have looked it up for you

Since I may or may not be prohibited from posting the actual Record of Survey, you may find it under Record of Survey No. 2001-1040 or RSB 186/30. Now that Orange County research is free, you can view it via this website.

My son is doing his first RS and I dug mine out. both in OC 184/49 and 186/30
