I bought my first one at Santa Rosa Blueprint about 5 years after you Phil.
About the same price, more than a week's wages.
They made a Big deal about it, i was a minor celebrity for 15 minutes.
I sold mine to get a Sears calculator with trig functions in about 1977... I was in hog heaven!

As of last June I now have cousin Dick Couglan's Curta ... he was anal, it is like new, in the original box, with instruction booklet, with matching serial number on the box.
( plastic case, no leather belt pouch :-( )

Yeah my Curta didn't have a fancy leather pouch like Warrens does.

So here ya go. It is a stencil brush.

Attached are a set of stencils from the George M. Dodge (1850-1925) archives (which now resides at the Marin County Library), a sample drawing and a bit of history regarding the chain-of-ownership of these wonderful Marin County archives.

Saint William Schroeder (LS 5814) wanted these archives for the public, rather than auctioning them off to the highest bidder. They are most appreciated by the Marin County Library system and their regiment of dedicated volunteers as well as historians and our profession. I believe Mr. Schroeder is writing an article about private survey records for the CalSurveyor. (If not, Bill, I just volunteered you. LOL)

Good to see the large participation throughout.
