No limit as long as legibility is met, , see Board Rule 464(d).

Multiple corners are allowed on the same CR and for the same lot, but I recommend you talk to your Co. Surveyor about situation specifics if there is any question in your mind. Probably no big deal if the lots were created by a subdivision map and there is good control in agreement with the record from all directions, but I would be careful about using a CR in other situations where a R/S would be a better choice. It's unfortunate that some counties feel it necessary to charge fairly large fees for R/S review when they are often simple reestablishments.

How much can you fit on a 8.5x11 card? I know it is cheaper than map check fees, but isn't there a limit? Will you be able to read it when you are done? That said we use CR often, but have filed a R/S when the amount of data exceeded the aviable space. But then our map check fee is still at $100

There's only been a couple times that I can remember when we 'recommended' that the surveyor do a R/S instead of a CR. Once there were several monuments that weren't record distances and the other was an 18" x 26" sheet shrunk down to 8 1/2 x 11....completely illegible.

So Gary, did that surveyor provide a scale factor for the reduced CR?

That was the least of that map's problems! Never even got that far. I just handed it right back.

You got to love those submittals Gary. They provide for some good humor, and education, lol.

They do give you examples to show other surveyors of what NOT to do!
