The "Continuing Education Issue" is a great topic for discussion. I am left wondering about the level of voluntary participation in professional development. I know many registrants ,having licenses in multiple states are hungry for classes to satisfy the requirements to maintain good standing in the states where continuing education is mandatory. It seems to me that the bulk ofseminar attendees are those that are mandated to continue education. I wonder is this true?

I think we would be better off with a voluntary system, but the only way that is going to work is if we can get enough participants to show that a substantial number of license holders actually continue their education and a mandatory program is unnecessary.

I know I have fallen short in reporting my efforts to continue my efforts and surely other have as well.

i believe we need to take control of this situation or it will be controled for us as others have suggested.

I agree with Dane on the great issue in the latest California Surveyor, another outstanding issue!

As for the Voluntary Professional Development Program through CLSA, I am a participating member, and it truly is not difficult to satisfy the requirements. Dane, I've seen you at the recent conferences, so go online and fill out the paper work, you'll qualify just fine, and it doesn't take that long!
