A surveyor has submitted a Corner Record showing the monumentation of some previously re-established section corners. Between some of these monuments he has placed several wood stakes with his tag for a fence. He has shown these stakes on his CR but won't provide any distances to the stakes, just showing boxes along the line. He says they're temporary, I ask then why show them on your CR? I say if you're showing them on your CR and you've tagged them, then give us ties to them.

If there is any possibility that they may survive the fence construction, then it's good he's shown them on the CR, but I can't think of a good reason why no distances unless he didn't measure them.

Did he set on one PLSS corner, sight the other and then just give line to set the hubs?

Was the purpose of the CR to show the re-established PLSS corner monnuments, or was it to show the hubs?

That's what it appears he did.

Yes.

I believe it was to show the newly monumented PLSS corners to allow the owner to install a fence and then show stakes along the line to assist in that fence installation.

Either tie 'em or don't show 'em.

They are probably line stakes, like Evan asked about. He probably didn't measure them, just set them on line. Maybe he can refer to them as "Line-only" points with distances to the nearest 5' or 10' or so?
