I spent part of last week in Southern California. The attached photo is of the street intersection in front of her house, Iron Horse Drive and Beringer Drive in Murrieta.

This targets is some 16' across with 8" wide legs.

This is in a 55+ subdivision of homes worth $600k and up.

The center of the target is set in such a way the the PI Mon is at the corner of the square. That's about 6" of slop to start with.

I would highly suggest that it might be a wise move to see if this can be cleaned up. The neighborhood is none too pleased with this eyesore.

On the other end of the spectrum, I'm seeing a lot af targets with 9" to 12" long legs that are 2" wide. Are these being photographed from RC helicopters or something?

I wish I had a photo of what I'm about to describe.

We sent a chainman out to paint targets down about 10 years ago. The guy had maybe 6 months of experience. After getting the prints from the photogrammetrist to try to ID a couple of photo ID points we needed to pick up, we also looked for and found all the targets our chainman set. We also found about three extra targets near one area of our site and what kind of looked like a white blob where a fourth target would have been placed. When running the control we figured out what the blob was...a painted asterisk (*). The chainman was told to set new targets, so when one of the locations we sent him to had an existing one, he just added four more fingers at 45°. Our chief of parties at the time had a pic, but I haven't seen him in years now. At least it wasn't set in a residential neighborhood.
