Is there anything within the LSA that would prohibit the filing of multiple surveys within a county onto a single record of survey?

I've seen on several ROS where someone surveyed multiple non-adjacent lots that were in the same original tract and placed everything on a single ROS.

Is there any reason this couldn't be done, even if the surveys were miles apart?

OC has a ton of older RS's that are divided in to four or six squares with separate surveys in each square. I guess the important thing would be whether it can be done legibly.

I worked on one in Huntington Beach for two different lots (separated by 5 or 6 lots) in one subdivision on one RS map. We were doing the survey for one lot and a guy came out of the house and asked us to include his lot and wrote us a check for us to get started and then we did his lot the same day. We hand-wrote a contract on field book paper and had him sign it.

I think it would be difficult to do legibly if the lots were miles away.

I would be curious the reaction of the county map checkers to something like this.

I would think if the lots are within the same block, I don't see how the CS could have any issue with it.

There is no restriction... just do it!

The choice is yours, it is Not the domain of the County Surveyor...

This is exactly what happens when a geodetic control netwok survey is filed. File away.

Does it matter if the two surveys are related? Does there have to be the same basis of bearings? Does there have to be a tie between the two parts being surveyed?

My feeling is all lots shown on one R.O.S. shall be on the same Basis of Bearings. I have no problems with multiply lots, but they shall be tied together. If they are not tied together, aren't they two seperate records of a survey that you are showing what you did?
