Job Summary:
Responsible for handling all technical aspects of the Land Surveying group including survey equipment, hardware and software, and fleet. Works with ISTS to remain abreast of technical advancements that would be useful to the group. All employees are responsible for performing their jobs in accordance with PG&E's vision and values.
Responsibilities:
•Provide production Survey, Mapping, and CAD support
•Develop, implement and enforce Survey, Mapping, and CAD Standards and organize the Survey and CAD inventory
•Supply technical support for all Survey equipment and CAD hardware and software
•Integrate L&EM CAD hardware needs with those of ISTS
•Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions
•Interact on project standards (mapping, electronic, and surveying) coordination with business partners (G&E T&D and Generation)
•Insure Survey and CAD vendor management
•Provide training and oversight of in-house Survey and CAD users
•Provide training and support to LS&ES in database management and development, equipment maintenance, and survey equipment management
•Strategic planning and technology evaluations for future Survey and CAD hardware and software implementation and purchase
•Provide a budget for all Survey and CAD technology items and training
•Maintain Survey and CAD document archive and retrieval systems and standards
•Provide leadership and vision to LS&ES employees in the area of Survey and CAD
•Customization of Survey and CAD Programs
•Manage and approve all survey equipment purchases and repairs and ensure that survey equipment requests and support is managed in a proactive, timely, and cost effective manner
•Enter and maintain accurate Survey and CAD Software inventories and verify against financial information
•Monitor and maintain LS&ES used servers
•Oversee the systems, operation, support and maintenance of all company survey equipment including fleet
•Oversee the completion and maintenance of the Surveyor's Handbook
•Develop, implement, and maintain survey equipment policies and procedures
•Maintain detailed transaction records in databases and spreadsheets related to shipping, receiving, inventory, and purchase orders
•Ensure that all survey equipment is operable, safe, and updated to approved firmware and software
•Build and maintain strong partnerships within internal client groups and outside vendors
•Development of all survey related safety tailboards and ensure compliance with all company safety policies
•Responsible for scheduling and facilitating the Trimble user's group meetings
•Up to 75% of time is spent in the field throughout the system, including occasional overnight travel
Position is based in concord, but the location can be based in other parts of PG&E service territory, depending on candidate's qualifications.
Minimum Requirements:
•BS degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related engineering field required.
•Minimum five years in land surveying/CAD or related experience.
•Proven knowledge and experience with asset tracking software and inventory management
•Demonstrated knowledge and experience with survey equipment and the Geomatics industry;
•Requires a valid California driver's license

•Licensed as a California Land Surveyor preferred.
•Excellent communication and organizational skills
•Ability to work well with others in a team environment
•Ability work under minimal supervision and manage time effectively
