Subdivision Map Act downloads

Why does the Board have the LS act and Board Rules available for download and not the SMA? I used to go to www.leginfo.ca.gov but it is no longer current.

I would like to be able to direct people in the local L. S. Exam Study Group to a free download for those who can't buy the CLSA version.

The Board is concerned with the Business and Professions Code. That is the code that authorizes them to license and it is the code they are authorized to enforce.

The Board Rules are the administrative rules by which the Board operates.

The SMA is within the Government Code and the authority to enforce it is vested in the local governments.

Thanks for the reply Evan.
My only quibble would be that since the board tests on it,(SMA) and it works in conjunction with the LS Act so often, posting it would not be unreasonable.

I am still looking for help on a free download of the SMA if anyone knows of a site. It is subject matter on the LS exam and the study group is covering it Monday the 24th of January. Not that we will be spending a great deal of time on it, and can generally follow an older one to do what is needed.

Thank you

All the state code sections are available

This makes them kind of work for it, but its also search able.

http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/calaw.html

Its also kept up to date.

Dont forget the excellent CLSA Exam Guide is a free download for members, and includes the the 2008 SMA; and maybe if you asked the powers that be they might be able to update it to 2011.
There have been some changes since 2008 that you will want to ensure the students are aware of.
Make it "an exercise for the student" to find the changes. That'll teach 'em!

Thanks Propst:

That is the link I generally give out. (see my original post)

However the site says it has been updated to include 2009 statutes and I am looking for something more current.

The Exam Guide is in fact the backbone of the study groups curriculum and an excellent resource.

You guys are confusing me. The O.P. asked for a link to the current SMA. The links given seem to point to the B&P Code. The SMA is part of the Gov. Code. I found a nice pdf download but it is dated April, 2008. Is this not current?
link is here:

I have updated the pages of the 2009 Exam Guide's SMA pages which had sections amended or added.
I hope it is of some benefit.
