I had an offer about 6 years back in a "safe" area of Iraq. I was told they wouldn't let me shoot back. I demurred.

A friend of mine worked in the oil fields of Kuwait just after the first gulf war, cleared $100K in just a few months. No safety problems at all. But I won't go to Africa.
