Hi All;

I have joined the ranks of the unemployed recently. Am looking for a position with a firm, or agency, needing a reliable Surveyor.

My resume is attached.

Thanks Ryan;

It was a good run with PACE. A real class firm to work for... but the work finally ran thin there also. We'll see what happens. This is the greatest profession one could hope for and I am sure something will pop.

Thanks Evan;

Construction season is approaching. Who knows what will happen. In the meantime, my wife has this "little" list of things for me to do around the property. It will be nice to go back to work and catch my breath.

By the way, the thread title indicates where I live, not the only area I am willing to work in.

I review CL jobs list.
For awhile there seemed to be a demand for Architects, but that has died off. Nothing in the Civil Engineering field.
A few surveyor ads, but mostly govt jobs looking for diversification.

Scott,
Sorry to hear that. Good luck finding something else. I hope to see you at the grading in June.

Land Butcher;

I keep an eye on Craigslist also these days. Seems more is happening in the public sector than the private.... for now.

Thanks squid;(I still have yet to figure that one out)

I appreciate all the responses from everyone, both here online and the calls. This is truly a small, tight and caring community. I just keep looking. Something will pop. Hope all is well with you and John and I'll see you next month, hopefully.

Scott,
We'd like to see you at the local CLSA meetings. Its a great way to network with the local surveyors and find out if they know of any employment opportunities. We are free for the first year of membership. Hope to see you. We meet the last thursday of every month at Cattlemans on Hilltop.

Except for this month as the Cascade's annual picnic will be held May 21 at Anderson River Park in lieu of our monthly meeting.

Hi All;

Boy! That didn't take long. I accepted a new survey position late last week. Thanks to all who suggested possible job prospects. Still have a little time to get some honeydos done though.

Thanks, again, to everyone!

Hi Ian;

Thanks! No, I am going to be doing a little traveling. We will see how everything pans out as to whether we end up relocating though. I'm just glad to have found work.

Take Care!

Thanks Squid. It's taking a little time, but the market is starting to warm up a little; you just have to be able to go where the work is.

David - Hang in there. It will happen. Have you put your resume up here yet? That is what helped for me. There are companies looking for good people, and they do use this forum as one of there resources. Good luck in your search.

It's like hearing a tennis match on TV without the picture!
