I have been requested to provide a pre '82 engineer a topographic survey required for a tentative parcel map. Since this is a requirement of the local agency for processing an application for the project, does board rule 411 dictate that I sign and seal any and all documents that reflect the information provided by me? There is also a grading plan proposed together with public improvements .

You produce a topographic survey to the engineer. sign and seal any drawings and reports that you provide to him. You do not have to sign/seal any work product that he produces using your data as you are not producing that work product.

I made it a practice to also have an electronic files release agreement in place when CAD files or other electronic files are part of the deliverables. Among other things, it refers to §8761.2 with regard to reuse of data and liability.
