"Easement to yourself"

Hello all,
Here's the scenario: Somebody owns 2 adjacent properties and wants to develop them with a common driveway (the centerline of which runs along a common property line).
Question: What is the best way to assure that, once one of the properties changes ownership, there will be an easement in place?
Thank you in advance!

One way to deal with this situation is through a restrictive covenant. The one owner essentially "reserves" the area for a specific purpose (i.e. future easement when one parcel is conveyed). An DRAFT examble is attached.
