OC PUBLIC WORKS
OC Public Works department provides services on a regional basis to unincorporated areas, to cities, and to other County agencies and departments. The primary mission of the department is to ensure quality of service today and quality of life tomorrow; in addition, our vision is to be a world class leader of innovative, professional, and quality public works services. OC Public Works is a unique County department comprised of four core functions, each of which directly impacts the quality of life for Orange County residents and the private sector. Our core businesses include OC Engineering, OC Facilities, OC Planning, and Administrative Services.
OC ENGINEERING
OC Flood and OC Roads are focused on two of the department's core services; maintaining public safety through the planning and design of a system of flood control facilities that protects the region from flooding, and a network of roads and bridges that facilitates the safe conveyance of people and goods throughout the County. They are supported in this effort by the other four sections of OC Engineering which are OC Inspection, OC Operations & Maintenance, and OC Survey.
OC SURVEY
The mission of the OC Survey division is to provide quality surveying and mapping services which enhance the public welfare and support the OC Public Works Department's mission and to provide these services in a courteous and professional manner.

- Possession of a valid Land Surveyor's License issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers. OR
- Possession of a valid Certificate of registration as a Civil Engineer authorized to practice Land Surveying issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers.
- Possession of a valid California Driver's license, Class C or higher may be required by date of appointment.
