Is there any repair service in the Bay Area for the "Nose".
Schonstedt wants minimum of $300 for the repair and I have to send it to east coast.

The guy who advertises in the professional magazines for $175 flat rate did an excellent job on mine. He's in Texas.
Call him at (866) 631-2901

How long did it take them to turn it around? My Schonstedt woke up cranky this morning, so I think it needs to see the doctor, but I'd hate to be without it for long.

Jim,
I have one that you could borrow while yours is being repaired. It's my personal one that I purchased over ten years ago. Still like new!

I also have one that I don't use anymore and that you can borrow. Let me know and I will bring into the office tomorrow for you to pickup.

Wow -- I need time to figure out what I'm going to do, but thanks for the generous offers!

No problem. We surveyors need to stick together whenever possible.
Maybe the surname "Moore" means "generous and giving" in the old country, as opposed to "naive and gullible" like my boss would have me believe! : )

I ended up sending mine to "the guy in Texas" (Atlas Electronics, Inc.) too. It came back yesterday sounding good as new.
