Updated CSUF Geomatics Conference Program Info: Trimble SketchUp and GIS Workshop

They had some speaker cancellations and they needed to rejigger the conference program. I thought I'd provide a quick update.
On Friday afternoon I'll know be giving a 1 hour talk entitled: "3D Concept Subdivision Modeling in Trimble SkecthUp".
Here is a short summary:
In this talk you’ll learn how to create a 3D model of a conceptual subdivision from client sketches. The talk will cover basic model creation and painting tools in SketchUp, and will also demonstrate how to work with SketchUp Components. At the end of the talk, you’ll see how the conceptual model can be styled with SketchUp’s built in styles or rendered using the Maxwell Renderer for SketchUp. If time permits, you’ll see how the 3D model can be presented in a 2D sheet layout.
On Saturday morning I'll teach a 4 hour GIS workshop. Here is a summary of the workshop's two (2) parts:
Saturday GIS Workshop Part 1: GIS Basics for Land Surveyors With OpenJUMP
This talk is an introduction to GIS for land surveyors. It will 1) explain the key concepts of a simple vector GIS, 2) discuss on what type of projects GIS is well-suited, and 3) conclude with a live demonstration of the concepts learned in the open source desktop GIS program OpenJUMP.
Saturday GIS Workshop Part 2: The Basics Linear Referencing and Topology
This first part of this talk will answer three questions: 1) What is linear segmentation, and why is it a problem? 2) What is linear referencing? 3)How can linear referencing be used in a GIS? If time permits, a simple exercise in linear referencing will be performed with the audience.
The second part of the talk will define the basics of topology in a GIS. It will include an examination of network topology and containment/adjacency topology. As time permits, the audience will be asked to participate in an exercise to apply the concepts learned to develop simple topology rules for a survey control GIS and a PLSS GIS.
