SURVEYOR II opportunities with the County of Orange

OC Public Works has an excellent opportunity to fill Surveyor II vacancies. The Surveyor II is responsible for performing a variety of surveying and mapping related tasks, including using the latest technology for survey map preparation, boundary analysis, data collection, and correspondence, as well as researching existing historical and official records. The Surveyor II also performs specialized field and office survey work including the identification,investigation and resolution of survey problems; operates field instruments; and provides technical instructions to lower classified personnel.

Experience Requirement
One year experience as a Surveyor I, or three years of subprofessional surveying or civil engineering experience including at least two years in a field or office survey assignment.

Education and Training Substitution
Education or training that can be directly related to the required knowledge and abilities may be substituted for up to one year of the the required experience at the rate of three college semester units for one month of experience or one hour of training for one hour of experience; or possession of a valid certificate as a Land Surveyor in Training or Engineer in Training issued by the California State Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors & Geologists may be substituted for one year of experience.
