Above is a link to a typical Surveyor's Report that I write for projects here in Texas. I thought you Land Surveyors in California might get a kick out of it.

Feel free to criticize, it is a rough draft. The names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Excellent. IMO, all surveys should have a "Surveyor's Report". Before I retired from Caltrans, I was insistent that all surveys performed by my Branch have a Surveyor's report that included:
1.) The purpose of the survey
2.) Background and research data and references
3.) Control held (monuments held) and survey values for those monuments
4.) Problems encountered
5.) Resolution and justification for decisions on resolving problems
6.) Conclusions and future recommendations (lessons learned)
7.) Signature and Seal of surveyor in responsible charge
