Position Summary:
ALTA VISTA SOLUTIONS is currently looking for a Land Surveyor to assist in managing of field and/or office survey operations for an innovative engineering firm that specializes in public works and private sector infrastructure projects in and around the San Francisco Bay area and throughout central California. Some travel may be required. This is a full time position available in our Richmond office.
Job Duties:
• Manage staff involved in daily field and office efforts
• Data collection associated with the preparation of topographic and boundary maps.
• Drafting plats and exhibits for boundary and construction surveys.
• Boundary research
• Construction staking calculations
Skills & Abilities:
• Effective written, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team involving staff, clients and outside agencies
• Proficient using Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and AutoCAD
• Strong problem-solving skills, including identifying data quality issues
• Strong organizational skills, including an ability to prioritize activities and work with limited supervision
• Detail minded, results oriented, and able to complete tasks on time.
• Ability to make good decisions using sound, professional judgment
Minimum Qualifications:
• 8+ years of field surveying experience required, with a thorough understanding of boundary survey, automated data collection, and GPS survey technology
• Proficient with Autodesk Civil 3D required
• Experience with Trimble Business Center, preferred
• California PLS required
• Position requires long hours and physical ability to hike through a variety of terrains while carrying equipment of approximately 50 pounds.
