Survey Party Chiefs are required to perform a variety of surveying and mapping related tasks using the latest in Surveying equipment and software technology to provide land surveying and mapping services to facilitate the design and construction of capital improvement projects. In addition to boundary, construction, control, and global positioning, topographic, and right-of-way surveys. The agency also provides, as-built and quantity survey reports; and other duties as required.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

One (1) year as a Surveyor II OR five (5) years of experience that would have applied or developed the knowledge and abilities listed as minimum qualifications on the job description.

Education or training that can be directly related to the required knowledge and abilities may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience at the rate of three semester units for one month of experience or one hour of training for one hour of experience; or possession of a valid Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate issued by the State of California may substitute for one year of experience. A valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) License issued by the State of California may be submitted in lieu of a LSIT or EIT certificate.

REQUIRED LICENSE

Possession of a valid LAND SURVEYOR IN TRAINING (LSIT) or ENGINEER IN TRAINING (EIT) certificate issued by the California Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors is a minimum qualification.

Possession of a valid California Driver's License, Class C or higher is required before the date of appointment.
