I got a postcard in the mail a couple of days ago that looked like it came from an outfit selling timeshares (lots of exclamation points!!!), but is actually from BPELSG (or a good imitator). It tells me that they're "increasing the value of licensure!" by allowing us to communicate with them via email ("register now!"). Tone of the mailing aside -- it's not a format I would associate with a professional licensing agency, but maybe that's a generational thing -- when I browsed to the email registration website I found a form with 21 mandatory fields (counting the Captcha) that have to be filled in just to associate an email address with one's license. It's a full-blown change of address form.

I like email as much as the next guy (probably more), but I browsed away from the page within 30 seconds. Sorry, too much effort for too little reward.

I got the postcard in yesterday's mail. Interesting format, including a QR code for quick browsing to the site. I like the section titled "Avoid Being Disciplined!" which points to the new laws and regulations.

If it was a generational thing, the postcard would have been touting Twitter instead of email.

The Board is going electronic. So they sent out postcards via USPS to all licensees. Makes perfect nonsense to me.

Until I hear otherwise from a board member or read about it on the website I will assume it is a Phishing attempt.

I just filled it out, just took a moment, maybe it saves reliance on the USPS
