Michael Baker International seeks a Survey Party Chief to join our Survey group in our Palm Desert, CA office.
The Palm Desert GIT team seeks a Survey Party Chief to conduct field surveying for various Coachella Valley and Inland Empire active survey projects. The Party Chief will perform construction staking, topographic mapping, and ALTA and boundary surveying. The Party Chief must be able to perform staking calculations and field engineering, as well as have the ability to interact with engineering managers, staff and clients. The Party Chief will also be responsible for the maintenance and operation of Trimble GPS and robotic instruments. This position receives daily guidance, training and supervision from Licensed Land Surveyors and other survey staff.
Responsibilities:
• Performing field work, using specific guidelines, to obtain and provide survey data.
• Researching previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence and other records to obtain data needed for surveys.
• Developing new data from existing records.
• Following methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control.
• Keeping accurate notes and records to describe work performed
Requirements:
• GED or High School Diploma
• Minimum of five years of Surveying experience
• LSIT Certificate a plus
• Member of Union of Operating Engineers Local 12 a plus
