Last night, I had the privilege to speak at the joint meeting of the two chapters.

What a terrific group of people.

I will admit that there are times when I look through our financials or deal with certain events that I can get discouraged. The task ahead of us, as an Association, can be daunting.

However, when I am able to interact with a group of people such as the ones at last night’s meeting, I am re-energized. I get to see the purpose of our efforts.

As with every Chapter Meeting I have had the opportunity to attend, I am encouraged by the attitudes, talent, enthusiasm and quality of the people at those meetings. You are the cream of the cream, as I told the group last night.

As with every Chapter Meeting I have attended, the ideas, comments and suggestions from the members are really top notch. We are pulling together information regarding some of the ideas and will be presenting the outcome for decisions to be made soon. Other ideas are for long-range planning and will be the subject of on-going efforts (Chairs for those who suggested!)

I cannot tell you how proud I am to be a member of this Association or how proud I am to be able to meet with you and speak with you.
Thank you! For your ideas. For your enthusiasm. For your hospitality. For your friendship.

And a very special thank you to Jerry Hovell and Dennis Hunter and Frank Maxim and William Magee. It was wonderful to see you there last night.

Thanks for sharing the insight and enthusiasm as President Elect. I felt the same way during my tour of the chapters and am proud to be associated with the professionals that make up our membership.

CLSA has been through a lot the last few years but we are still working hard for our profession. I see it every day with emails from committee meetings, liaison updates and Executive Committee members comments.

I can't thank our fellow CLSA members enough for all their dedication and participation.

Keep the momentum going Ian.
