This will effect private sector CA employers and employees. Just another tax for the CA govt to misuse.
Great idea since they have done such a bang up job with the govt employees pensions.

This is maddening, there is no financial sense left in the public sector;
the money just magically falls from the sky.
Once they brake the private sector's back (we are over 60% confiscation now) the whole system will collapse.
No wonder Trump is closing the gap, the status quo is no longer a solution..

This is mainly why I sold my business and got rid of all my employees and associated obligations. I could easily employ an army of surveyors and I could pay them well but I won't do that anymore. When people ask me for a job or ask me to hire them I advise them to go to community college and learn how to run a business and learn how to handle their own taxes, insurance, healthcare, etc. I can do it and did it for a long time but the government has made it so oppressive, it is not worth my time or effort.
Good luck out there.

SB 1234.
It is not a tax.
pensionrights.org has a history of the bill and the opt out provisions available.
Not saying it is a good bill but I don't come here for political drama, this is supposed to be
where I can escape political drama for 10 freaking minutes.

ANYTHING you have to pay to a govt agency involuntarily is a tax, no matter what name you attach to it.
And the opt outs are a paperwork nightmare.
This post is not political it's informational to the members of the private sector in CA.
