Survey Technician I

Alameda County Public Works Agency seeks to fill an exciting entry level position of Survey Technician I, to serve as a junior member of a land survey team conducting topographic, boundary, control and construction surveys, or in the office performs elementary map examinations. Incumbents in the Survey Technician I position are expected to promote to the higher class of Survey Technician II after two years of experience and demonstrated knowledge and necessary competence in applying basic surveying methods employed by the County and with basic understanding of the procedures for map examinations as required by state regulations. Minimum qualifications for this position require: Either I: completion of a minimum of 60 semester/90 quarter units from an accredited college or university consisting of at least 12 semester/18 quarter units of combined course work in mathematics (college algebra and trigonometry) and/or land surveying. Or II: Experience – the equivalent of one year full-time land surveying experience that included at least six months of land surveying field experience. License: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
