Are we the Rodney Dangerfield of Professions?

When I think about the land surveying community and GIS I hear Boz Scaggs crooning, "Lido missed the boat that day..."
This morning I registered for a webcast: You have DRONED your project, now what?
Should I be surprised that the only time the word "survey" shows up on the website is in reference to the speaker (an engineer) and his surveying experience?
Then comes the real tell on how well the our profession is doing at staying in the technology race within the geospatial community.
Other? Owner in some cases? Civil Engineer gets a category...
At least I can tag the type of organization, even if second fiddle to GIS...
