We all pay to practice in this State but will our fees continue to be earmarked to support our governing board?
There is currently a bill in SAC to remove the restrictions on ORV fees and allow CA govt to spend those fees on anything they want, and this bill has a 100% chance of becoming law.
We all know that the State "borrows" money from one bond measure or agency to spend somewhere else and somehow it never gets paid back, this bill to remove the restrictions on the ORV fees is, IMO, just the beginning of making such transfers legal.
Here is one reason why I feel that way; The City of Huntington Beach must pay an additional $23 million into CalPERS due to a drop in their profits, and HB is just one of hundreds of cities and other agencies that pay into CalPERS.
Lets not forget that a new law requires us private employees to pay 3% of our income into CalPERS, but private sector pensions are not guaranteed like public sector pensions are.

While I plan to maintain my CA PLS (27 years is a lot to just throw away), I will only practice in the State for certain special projects for which I will expect to be Well Compensated. As bad as the state legislature and governership were when I last practiced there, now it is much worse.

It seems that quite a few people have determined that there is an actual legitimate reason the current governor has the nickname of "MOONBEAM". Too bad that they are in a minority in the state.

I'm going with Off-Road Vehicle.

All fees and taxes like Fish and Game Licenses and tax as well as Gas Tax is stolen and put into the general fund instead of using the $ for what the original Tax,Toll,Fee was intended. This needs to stop. The money the state has confiscated from us should provide golden paved highways.

If I recall correctly under a previous Jerry Brown administration (1980 or so), because of theft of funds, I believe the BOR was so broke they did not even have the staffing/funding to even review the applications for the PLS exam.
