Requirements:
• Requires a high school education or GED
• Requires 4 years of either college education, or certification to journeyman through IUOE Local 3 – Chainperson skill level
• Possession of current California driver’s license.
• Satisfactory results in driving background and criminal background screening. *
• Oral and written communication skills
• Work in a safe, mindful, and consistent manner without posing threat to self or others
• Maintain physical condition necessary for walking over uneven surfaces, standing for extended periods of time, some stooping crawling, crouching, and hiking; some lifting and carrying of audiovisual acuity, and manual and physical dexterity.

Responsibilities:
• Assist with operation of survey equipment, filed measurement, utility measure-downs, and construction staking, assisting with layout activities, and setting up of instruments and backsights.
• Also works under direction of other crew persons to manage traffic safety, signage and cone locations, etc.

*Negative results do not translate to immediate disqualification. Each case will be given individual consideration per the requirements in local legislation regarding 2nd Chance Ordinances. Some project assignments may include pre-assignment and random drug and alcohol testing.
