Aliquot is hiring 2 positions: Survey Technician and Survey Party Chief in Walnut Creek

Aliquot Associates, a well-established multi-disciplined engineering and surveying firm founded in 1980 and a member of Local 3 Union is seeking to fill immediate openings for a field Party Chief and an office Survey Technician to support a wide variety of public and private projects. We are located in Walnut Creek, CA. The preferred Party Chief candidate will have field and mapping experience in a wide variety of projects, including, but not limited to construction staking, topographic and boundary surveys for residential developments, commercial developments and public works projects. Party Chief will have a chainman under his/her leadership and has the excellent opportunity to acquire the necessary office skills and responsible charge to launch the right candidate towards an LSIT or LS license. Party Chief will be able to perform skilled survey work in both the field and office settings. He/she is expected to be able to configure and operate a variety of survey instruments, as well as make and check calculations. The Survey Tech must have demonstrated abilities to work well in a team environment, meet deadlines, and work under minimal supervision. Proficiency with Civil 3D and Microsoft Office required.
Office/Mapping Skills:
• Preparation of Topographic Surveys from survey field data.
• Ability to plot property lines and easements from legal descriptions.
• Review field survey data for completeness and accuracy.
• Preparation of Pre-Staking Calculations for field crews.
• A general understanding of construction plans and calculating grades.
• Experience with Civil3D 2018 and MS Excel spreadsheets.
• Preparation of Corner Records, Final Maps, Records of Survey, ALTA Surveys, etc.
Field Survey Skills:
• Ability to operate a total station, GPS, and digital level.
• Perform field surveys including staking, topo and boundary surveys.
• Candidate should have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to prepare accurate, clean sketches and field notes.
