Indeed. The CCC trial is going on here in San Diego this week.

Several years ago I was involved with Naiman and Simms when that corruption trial went down. I worked on their properties and assisted them with coastal permitting until it got crazy.

And this is why the constitution is worth fighting for.

The article is a political screed rather than a dispassionate discussion of the issues. Management of the coastline as a public trust is long-established in California law, and private property rights are not unequivocally superior. It's not about left and right, it's about the balance between public and private interests. The Martin's Beach case presents a complex set of competing considerations, and the legal outcome is hardly a foregone conclusion.

I notice that the Recorder collected the $75 SB2 surcharge in addition to the normal recording fees for the Judgment.

Every chance they can get! They hit me for an easement deed.

My understanding is that Khosla still hasn't applied for a development permit per Coastal Commission requirements, and is instead appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court, which hasn't (yet) granted cert in the matter. The saga continues...

Yes, he did petition the SCOTUS.
