A nice article in today's Union Tribune on Rick Engineering, one of the great companies.

An even more fantastic tool is LIDAR (light detection and ranging), a laser system that penetrates buildings, trees and other obstructions to produce a 3D image in minutes.
I gotta get me one of them lasers that penetrates buildings. That'd be downright handy in the field.

That is a really nice article.

It is especially good to see so much written on their land surveyors.

I have completed a few projects with the Rick Engineering surveyors over the last 20 years. They are a top notch group of professionals. I am glad to see them rightfully recognized.

There are some serious factual problems with that article! Good to see Pat and Brian get some press though. Too bad that they didn't mention Don Woolley and Gus Rios though. Great guys!
