We have an immediate opportunity for a Party Chief n the Pomona area. This position would be perfect for an experienced Chainman familiar with utilizing surveying equipment looking to move to the next level in their career. If interested in being considered, please call 916-244-7687.
Responsibilities:
Supervising and leading a survey crew.
Performs field labor related to performing all types of surveys, including land boundary, topographic mapping, construction staking, pipeline surveys, hydro-graphic surveys, and control surveys.
Accurately operate and adjust survey measuring instruments including level, transit, theodolite, electronic measuring devices and total stations with electronic data collecting capabilities.
Performs mathematical calculations. Reads and understands survey map data.
Takes accurate and clear survey field notes and performs simple note reduction and checking.
Setup Traffic control.
Travel to job sites.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A high school education or equivalent is required, including a background in math, geometry and trigonometry.
5 or more years’ experience utilizing survey instruments required.
Must possess effective written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to identify sources of measurement errors required.
Demonstrated knowledge of principles of survey measurement, staking and marking.
Must be able and willing to travel and work in other cities and remote areas.
Valid CA Driver’s License with safe driving record required.
Ability to read Utility maps and Record Maps.
Preferred:
Familiarity with Trimble surveying equipment.
College or trade school.
