A SURVEYOR’S CHRISTMAS

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the shop,
It's raining outside, that's good for the crops;
I sit back and in my chair and reminisce of the years that's gone by,
I know I will retire soon, and that brings a tear to my eye;
As I started with a stiff legged tripod, a string and a bob,
It was hard work, but rewarding, and quite a good job;
As time went on, I learned and read of all the new trends,
And those I have worked with, I am proud to call friends;
Everyone has gone home now to be with their loved ones on this blessed day,
So I should lock up the doors and be on my way;
With that, I will wish my brother's in arms who be in this business,
A Happy New Year and a very Merry Christmas.
