TIME SENSITIVE MATTER

The California Coastal Commission is proposing new methods of determining littoral boundaries by changing the manner in which the Mean High Tide Line is determined. The public comment period commences tomorrow and runes into July. I think it is imperative that CLSA weigh in on this topic ASAP. I am appealing to the association to get involved.
As many of you may know, the motive for the state is to develop a revenue stream for the state by forcing property owners into entering into log term leases to bolster state coffers.

Land grab.
LiDAR doesn't look to the future any more than any other method of determination.

So they want to lidar the shoreline once a year during high tide events?

Page 32, The Commission will work with the State lands Commission, the LAND SURVEYING INDUSTRY, legal experts, and other partners to explore opportunities to determine a more current mean high water elevation....
At the end of the day, things change, I say we take this as an opportunity to draft a letter of recommendation and possibly have a member or group from CLSA (the land surveying industry) help with the newly proposed determination of the current mean high water elevation.
