Does a city have to own all of the land to be divided to do an Official Map per §§66499.50 - 66499.58?

Has anyone been involved with an Official Map per §§66499.50 - 66499.58?

No, Official Maps are a recompilation of existing subdivision maps. You can look at ones for Clements, Lockeford, French Camp, Milton, Thornton, and other unincorporated communities in San Joaquin County. Essentially, lots and blocks were renumbered.
