For ten points, is this artificial influence on the shoreline? If it is not, what is it?

Del Mar! Beautiful flight and day. The whole place is artificial, I bet that all that whole area is nothing but fill over a historic slough (as my Nana would call the area). To bad we don't have a drone flight from around 1900 to compare the area to. Jp

The second racing season just opened up. Have you been to the track?

The riprap, seawalls, the fills to create the pads for the houses, and the houses are more of an alteration to the shore line than moving sand around. And constricting the ancient lagoon with the construction of Highway 1 there.

Yes, many thanks! I was just talking to my wife Maureen. Our granddaughter (Justin's daughter) turns 20 years old in December. She is flying to Boston to celebrate Thanksgiving with family back there, all by herself. it is hard to believe that is happening - we could never imagine her doing something like that!
Time passes too fast.
Have a great holiday! Every day is a gift!
(I miss Roy also)

It would be interesting to compare with the 1929 aerial photos the County has.
