AutoCAD Tech II Opening

SPECTRUM LAND SERVICES is a leading right-of-way consulting company headquartered in Orange California, Spectrum is seeking a qualified AutoCAD Technician II to work in a support role within our land surveying department. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual looking to be a part of a stable, well established firm.
LOCATION: Orange, California (Semi-remote work is available)
POSITION: AutoCAD Technician II (Part-Time, Full-Time Employment or Independent Contractor Positions are available)
JOB DESCRIPTION: With limited oversight from the project manager, the position focuses on writing and reviewing, basic to complex centerline and metes & bounds (land) descriptions of easement take areas involving the acquisition of electric utility easements in a productive team environment. The Tech performs analysis of AutoCAD files, land title records such as property ownership profiles, deeds, maps, and other documents to produce land descriptions and exhibit maps. Analyzes conflicts between design plans and existing improvements; reviews maps, records of survey and right-of-way drawings. Reads and interprets deeds, legal descriptions, parcel and tract maps, records of survey, and construction plans. Uses AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D to prepare easement exhibit drawings based on electric service design drawings impacting private property.
REQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
•2+ years of experience preparing AutoCAD drawings and exhibit maps to support civil or public works projects using a recent version of Civil 3D or AutoCAD
•Must demonstrate the ability to interpret and write complex land descriptions involving utility rights of way
•Ability to thoroughly interpret land title deeds, record maps and plot/ right-of-way boundaries
•Must have clear and concise verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor
•Must live within driving distance to Orange, California
STARTING PAY RANGE: $40 to $50 per hour. Actual starting pay rate will be based on candidate qualifications & experience.
