Please save the date for the Deputy County Surveyor's Summer 2026 Open Forum, hosted by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.

Format: Zoom Open Forum & Q&A Session

This forum is an opportunity for licensed land surveyors, mapping professionals, engineers, agency staff, and other stakeholders to hear directly from the Los Angeles County Survey Office regarding current initiatives, challenges, and improvements affecting the surveying community.

Topics Will Include

• Introduction of Bryan Mundia, PLS, the new Deputy County Surveyor

• The current State of Land Surveying in Los Angeles County, including:

Current Corner Record and Record of Survey workloads[/indent]
Processing goals and efforts to reduce review times
Recent Record of Survey fee updates
Ongoing initiatives to improve customer service and efficiency

• Map Checking Improvements, including:

Standardization of review comments and processes
Best practices for submitting complete Record of Survey and Corner Record packages
Common submittal issues and how to avoid delays
Development of an AI-assisted Record of Survey map checking initiative
