Section 8744 says, "The applicant for a license as a land surveyor shall state in his or her application that, should he or she be licensed, he or she will support the Constitution of this state and of the United States, and that he or she will faithfully discharge the duties of a licensed land surveyor."

Nowhere in the PE Act does anything like this appear.

Where did 8744 come from?

PEs must be like Presidents . . . LOL

The languages originates from AB 238 in 1891 where the state enacted the first LS Act. This act created the Surveyor General position who issued land surveying licenses.
