Errors and Omissions Insurance

Post by Dave Lindell »

I searched all over this board for this topic!

Who/what/where is that company that offers discount insurance for CLSA members?

My policy expires in March. In 2008 I paid $4,427.06 for $1M/$2M with a non-admitted carrier (Lloyd's of London) brokered by Hall & Company. In 2009 I was quoted $5,976.21 to renew. I found another carrier (Darwin Select, brokered by Assurance Risk Managers) who quoted $4,060.26, so I switched. There were some differences between the policies in terms of the way defense costs are allocated, but they were minor compared with the difference in premiums.

I've dealt with both brokers over the years, and both are good. My E&O choice this year was based solely on premium.

Im not sure of your deductibles, but it always amazed me how clients want E&O with $1 million in coverage with a $50K deductible for a $2500 topo survey.
