List of County Surveyors
I have a list of County Surveyors that I think we found on the internet. It seems relatively up to date, but I know of a couple of changes.
In some cases, the contact listed is the Deputy County Surveyor. In many cases, the CS holds another title, such as Director of Public Works, or some such.
Please take a look at it and indicate corrections or verification of any of the names, titles, or contact info. You can either post corrections here or email them to me at either evan@homesteadsurveying.com or pagee@slc.ca.gov.
After a few weeks, I will update the list accordingly and repost it or provide it to any who ask for it.
Thanks.

www.tiepoints.com has links to some, if not most, of the county websites and county surveyor web pages. There is contact info for the counties on there as well.

Joan Carr, County Surveyor, not sure of any contact info
Just met her at our Local meeting in May and she spoke for about 10 minutes about the effects the many hundreds of noticable earthquakes are having on the local CORS sites down there.

Thanks guys. I forgot about Michael's tiepoints. That should be good for most, but a couple of counties, like Fresno, seem to be trying to keep it a secret that they even have a County Surveyor.
I got Mr. Ramirez' name from Ric this morning, but thanks for verifying it and expanding on the contact info, Jason.
Edit: I'll add an update as well. El Dorado County, the only county that still has an elected County Surveyor, just voted in a new one after Dan Russell's announced retirement. Rich Briner, who has been the Deputy County Surveyor for several years won with about 99% of the vote. What kind of banana republic result is that you ask? Actually, Rich ran unopposed because nobody else wanted the job. Dan will still be around until January, when Rich officially takes over. Send your congratulations to Rich at rich.briner@edcgov.us.

Ms. Carr must be fairly new to Imperial. BPELS website lists her at the opposite corner of the State in Trinity County.pls7809 wrote:Joan Carr, County Surveyor, not sure of any contact info

Joan was formerly very active in the Cascade Chapter and ran her own business up North.
You have to admire her for moving from one end of the State to the other to take on the Imperial County Surveyor job.
I am sure things have been quite busy for her after the Easter earthquake down there!

Here we go again tick, tock, tick, tock, oops that was for Even da bomb, heheheee! BTW, do you have an extra, LMAO!
Well after looking at the list, I have to laugh at San Mateo County, yes my employer!
The listed "Richard Doberstien" was only a technician who reviewed maps, and retired 6-7 years ago. Currently I am the only Licensed Land Surveyor on staff (some call me the county surveyor) but I do not sign any maps or legal descriptions. The previous Deputy Director of Public Works, Brian C. Lee, retired in March of 2009, was the County Surveyor. Upon his retirement, upper management decided to contract out his services as County Surveyor, so technically he is still the County Surveyor, who comes into the office once a week to sign the maps I review, yes your reading this correctly.
Now, I'll leave it to all of you to decide who is the county surveyor for San Mateo County. When you find out, please let me know, oh wait, I already know.
