Private Health Insurance? Recommendations, Please....

For those of you who went out and got your own health insurance plan, what company did you go with, and do you recommend them?

Thanks, Ian, but unfortunately CLSA hasn't been able to get anything going. Here's the reply I just received:

"Hi Lee -
CLSA has not been able to create a group health insurance program due to the state of the insurance industry. We will continue to try each year to develop a program and once we have one in place will let the membership know.

Probably have to do Cobra...at least for a while.

I have been using Kaiser Permanente, not the best, but one of few options for self-employed.

I'm with Kaiser also, been good to us.

But with Obombacare it won't last, medical care in this Country will decline rapidly under govt HC and private plans will be forced out unless you are in a union and costs will rise dramatically both directly and indirectly.

My family has been with Kaiser Permanente since the early '90s, and it's been fine. Costs are high, but in line with those of the industry.
